“… a place of safety, of stillness, of being held.”
The name Fosdqa comes from a Maltese word that refers to the soft cotton cocoon that gently protects the caterpillar as it transforms into a butterfly.
I have always been drawn to this image.
A cocoon is not just a place of change … it is a place of safety, of stillness, of being held. It offers the right conditions for growth to happen naturally, without pressure or rush.
In many ways, I see psychotherapy in the same light.
Therapy can be a space where you are met just as you are … a space that feels safe enough to pause, to reflect, and to begin making sense of what you are going through. A space that, over time, allows for growth, healing, and change.
“… something that feels a little like home.”
Fosdqa was created from a deeply personal intention … to offer a space that feels calm, safe, and grounded. A space where people can slow down, feel heard, and reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way.
Through my work, I came to realise how important it is to prioritise quality over quantity. I value being fully present with each person, taking the time to understand their story, and holding the space with care and attention.
Fosdqa is, at its heart, an attempt to create something that feels safe … something that feels a little like home.
A space where you can come as you are, feel supported, and gently move towards where you want to be.
